MOTIVATION OF LABOR: APPROACHES TO INTERPRETATION

Abstract

Purpose is to generalize the approaches to the interpretation of the concept of "motivation of labor" and to propose its own definition. Methodology of research. In the process of research, the following methods were used: induction and deduction, analysis and synthesis, monographic in the study of scientific sources, in identifying approaches to the interpretation of the essence of the concept of "motivation of labor"; abstract-logical for generalization of theoretical positions, formation of conclusions. Findings. It was established that in the scientific literature there is no single interpretation of the concept of "motivation of labor"; some scientists consider motivation as a process, others as a system (a set of certain forces, motives, causes), and others as a management function. It was substantiated that the process of motivation of labor in an enterprise should be carried out on the principles of efficiency, flexibility and dynamism, purposefulness, complexity, objectivity, efficiency and scientific substantiation. Originality. The actual interpretation of the concept of "labor motivation" is suggested, which should be understood as the purposeful process of formation of such behavior of personnel, which will promote the achievement of both personal goals and objectives set to the enterprise to the fullest extent; The success of this process is determined by the ability of the head of any level to activate the work of the employee by increasing the influence of factors-motivators and reducing the force of influence or neutralization of factors-demotivators. Practical value. The results of the study may be the basis for improving the conceptual apparatus used in the writing of scientific works, as well as teaching disciplines "Economics and Rationing of Labor", "Personnel Management", "Personnel Management".
