Mukhtar Mai, an Emblem of Struggle against Oppression

Abstract
This paper seeks to analyse Mukhtar Mai’s memoir In The Name of Honor (2006) from the point of view of a victimized female sufferer who subsequently resists patriarchal society and becomes an emblem of struggle against oppression. Before taking up Mukhtar Mai’s memoir, I would like to focus on the difference between memoir and autobiography. The line between memoir and autobiography is vague. Like an autobiography, a memoir is a narrative that reveals experiences within the author's lifetime.
