Multilayer Neural Networks and Nearest Neighbor Classifier Performances for Image Annotation
Journal Title: International Journal of Advanced Computer Science & Applications - Year 2012, Vol 3, Issue 11
Abstract
The explosive growth of image data leads to the research and development of image content searching and indexing systems. Image annotation systems aim at annotating automatically animage with some controlled keywords that can be used for indexing and retrieval of images. This paper presents a comparative evaluation of the image content annotation system by using the multilayer neural networks and the nearest neighbour classifier. The region growing segmentation is used to separate objects, the Hu moments, Legendre moments and Zernike moments which are used in as feature descriptors for the image content characterization and annotation. The ETH-80 database image is used in the experiments here. The best annotation rate is achieved by using Legendre moments as feature extraction method and the multilayer neural network as a classifier.

A Knowledge-based Topic Modeling Approach for Automatic Topic Labeling
Probabilistic topic models, which aim to discover latent topics in text corpora define each document as a multinomial distributions over topics and each topic as a multinomial distributions over words. Although, humans c...
A Web based Inventory Control System using Cloud Architecture and Barcode Technology for Zambia Air Force
Inventory management of spares is one of the activities Zambia Air Force (ZAF) undertakes to ensure optimal serviceability state of equipment to effectively achieve its roles. This obligation could only be made possible...
A Novel Broadcast Scheme DSR-based Mobile Adhoc Networks
Traffic classification seeks to assign packet flows to an appropriate quality of service (QoS). Despite many studies that have placed a lot of emphasis on broadcast communication, broadcasting in MANETs is still a proble...
FLACC: Fuzzy Logic Approach for Congestion Control
The popularity of network applications has increased the number of packets travelling within the routers in networks. The movement expends most resources in such networks and consequently leads to congestion, which worse...
