MULTIMEDIA EDUCATION ENVIRONMENT: ESSENCE AND SPECIFICITY

Abstract
The article deals with the problem of organizing the educational process in institutions of higher education, taking into account the “environmental” approach. In particular, the author considers such a modern kind of environment, as a multi- media educational environment. The multimedia educational environment is a powerful tool that can provide effective condi- tions for the implementation of educational, cognitive, and scientific activities of participants in the educational process. The author analyzed the approaches to the definition of «multimedia educational environment» and considered its specifics. Also described his educational advantages in implementing professional training of future specialists in higher education. Multi- media educational environment is a component of the informational educational environment, realized based on multimedia technologies, which provides conditions for the implementation of educational, cognitive, scientific activities of participants in the educational process. Such an environment can be part of the lesson; electronic version of the complex of the discipline; full interactive hypermedia space. This environment includes specially adapted educational resources, tools, methods, forms and technologies of learning, as well as means of managing the educational process and interaction between its participants. The multimedia educational environment is a system that is useful for both students and teachers. Students can choose a type of presentation and a way to access the educational material; choose the optimal rate of training, to develop their own tra- jectory of training, etc. Teachers will be able to maintain the student’s preferences; manage their learning activities; combine the various available educational resources into a single whole. Another particularly feature of the multimedia educational environment is that participants in the learning process can interact at any time anywhere. The use of the multimedia educa- tional environment has a powerful didactic potential for improving the vocational training in higher education institutions. Such an educational environment makes the learning process interesting, open and professionally oriented.
