Music Therapy in ADHD and Autism

Abstract
Music therapy has been identified as a research-based branch(Rickson et al.:2016; Australian Music Therapy Association: 2012) and it can improve especially gross and fine motor coordination and skills of individuals who have ADHD and Autism. Music therapist behaves like an artist for he/she uses contents of music such as sound and rhythm. In this means, music can be used in children to prevent especially their attention and speech disorder. In this study various regular and irregular rhythm implications have been used on children with Autism and ADHD. In addition to the usage of different children songs, musical games had also been used. As a conclusion it had been observed that children with ADHD and Autism paid more attention to what they are doing, they expressed themselves better and started to behave less hyper.
