Mythopoetics as cultural topos and culturological method

Abstract

Purpose of the work. The article concentrates on mythopoetics as a way to concretize myth and make it public. Methodology. There are analytical and comparative methods (in interpretation of phenomenon and forms of representation of myth) as well as typological one (to detect common and distinctive features of mythological forms and practices). Simulation method is applied in the field of actualization of mythological, also, the method of theoretical generalization – to sum up the conclusions of the research. The concept of "mythopoetics" is analyzed through the context of discourse and methodology of culture. The scientific novelty lies in research of multiple angles of the terminological definition of mythopoetics and widening the sphere of its use, in visual and political culture in particular. Conclusion. Mythopoetics is a specific cultural topos and creative system and metaphorical construction, which is inherent to any field/form of culture. The same way mythopoetics is legitimate method and term of cultural studies (intertextual as well as textual), which puts reality in order and masters cultural epochs to explore their reception, transformation and development as well as analyses their functions in creating of holistic world image displayed in texts, symbols and images: verbal, plastic, and visual.
