MYTHS AND EDUCATION. SOME EDUCATIONAL PROBLEMS IN VIEW OF SOCIAL CHANGES

Abstract
Some unfavorable phenomena in the area of education are indicated in the article and attempts are made to clarify their causes. Present day problems in education are linked to the social changes occurring in the last decade. A hypothesis is formulated on the role of myths in the thinking about education, and on the activation of these myths at social turning points as well as their effects upon action. The negative consequences of mythical thinking about education are shown. Attention is drawn to special tasks facing psychologists dealing with problems of education.
