Business-oriented modelling and bank intellectual capital

Abstract
Banks are institutions where intellectual capital plays as important role as financial capital. Banks also take the advantage of business-oriented modeling solutions. Those solutions support the conceptualization of value creation (business model) and the process of locating the value creation in the organization (operational model). The first part of the article presents the business-oriented modelling fundations and relationships between business model elements. The second part focuses on the bank intellectual capital while the third part describes a systematic view on the business-oriented modelling concept as a part of bank intellectual capital. The paper discusses also the problem of different roles that can be assigned to business-oriented modelling in the context of intellectual capital development, value creation as well as its maintenance and advancement. The article aims at presenting the fundamentals and basic concepts of discussed problem.
