Neuroleptic malignant-like syndrome due to herbicide intoxication

Abstract
It is known that malignant neuroleptic syndrome (MNS) like symptoms occur with non-neuroleptic medication. But in the literature, there is only one case of MNS due to herbicide intoxication, called basagran. Our case was presented as altered state of mentation, high fever, rigidity, high creatine phosphokinase levels, and myoglobinuria after exposure to a herbicide, called trifluraline, via dermal and respiratory routes for hours. MNS was decided and treated by bromocriptine beside symptomatic therapy. As herbicides are widely used we think intoxication must be in mind when there is a MNS case coming without any medication history.
