Abstract
The present article deals with the new lexical processes activated in the language of online newspaper “Ukrainska pravda” in the early XXIth century, in particular it describes shortened phrases and derivations formed from abbreviations, defi nes their most common thematic groups and characterizes their stylistic role, describes extralinguistic factors that promote the emergence of neologisms.
