Numerical Investigations on Aerodynamic Characteristics of Savonius Wind Turbine
Journal Title: International Journal of engineering Research and Applications - Year 2018, Vol 8, Issue 4
Abstract
In This Paper Objective Is To Investigate The Aerodynamic Performance Of Savonius Wind Turbine. Wind Tunnel Investigation Was Carried Out To Find The Aerodynamic Characteristics Like, Drag Coefficient, Torque Coefficient, And Power Coefficient Of Three Blade Savonius Wind Turbine Rotor Models With And Without Overlap Ratio (Ratio Of Overlap Distance Between Two Adjacent Blades And Rotor Diameter ,Or = A/D) At Various Reynolds Numbers. Numerical Investigation Was Acarried Out To Find Those Aerodynamic Characteristics. For Numerical Investigation, Commercial Computational Fluid Dynamic (Cfd) Software Fluent Were Used. Afterwards Those Two Results Were Compared For Verification. The Results From The Experimental Part Of The Research Show A Significant Effect Of Overlap Ratio And Reynolds Number On The Improvement Of Aerodynamic Performance Of The Savonius Wind Turbine. At Higher Reynolds Number Turbine Model Without Overlap Ratio Gives Better Aerodynamic Coefficients And At Lower Reynolds Number Model With Moderate Overlap Ratio Gives Better Results.

Aim of this paper is to introduce and study some allied normal spaces using gsp-open sets , g * -closed sets , gsopen sets and semipreopen sets. We, also investigate some basic properties of these allied normal spaces. M...
Proposition of an Adaptive Retransmission Timeout for TCP in 802.11 Wireless Environments
The Transport Control Protocol (TCP) is used to establish and control a session between two endpoints. The problem is that in 802.11 wireless environments TCP always considers that the packet loss is caused by network co...
Production of Biogas and Biofertilizers from Only Sugarcane Waste in a Pilot-Scale Two-Phase Anaerobic Digester System
Sugarcane is cultivated in more than 100 countries around the world. Industrial agriculture and processing of sugarcane results in the generation of large amounts of wastes such as straw, bagasse, ashes, vinasse, pressed...
Study of Different Edge Detection techniques in Video Acquisition
Edges are significant local intensity changes in the image and are important features to analyse an image. They are important clues to separate regions within an object or to identify changes in illumination or colour. T...
Traditional Approach towards Contemporary Design: A Case Study
Traditional architecture acts as a valuable source of inspiration for contemporary designs. The paper aims to analyse the link established between contemporary architecture that with the traditional architecture; as arch...
