NUMERICAL MODELING OF THE PROPAGATION OF RADIOACTIVE IMPURITIES IN THE SURFACE LAYER OF THE ATMOSPHERE TAKING INTO ACCOUNT WET DEPOSITION

Journal Title: International scientific journal Science and Innovation - Year 2025, Vol 4, Issue 1

Abstract

The article considers numerical modeling of radioactive impurity propagation in the atmospheric surface layer taking into account wet deposition. An implicit finite-difference scheme of the second order of accuracy is used. The developed mathematical model describes the main processes of particle transport, diffusion and deposition, and also takes into account radioactive decay. The study presents an algorithm for a numerical solution, a sweep method for solving a system of linear algebraic equations. The modeling results allow for a spatio-temporal analysis of the concentration of radioactive impurities and an assessment of the influence of various factors, such as wind speed, wet deposition coefficient and climatic conditions.
