Numerical Simulation of a Mechanically Stacked GaAs/Ge Solar Cell
Journal Title: Engineering, Technology & Applied Science Research - Year 2017, Vol 7, Issue 3
Abstract
In this paper, GaAs and Ge solar cells have been studied and simulated separately and the inner characteristics of each have been calculated including the energy band structure, the internal field, carrier density distribution in the equilibrium condition (dark condition) and the voltage-current curve in the sun exposure with the output power of each one. Finally, the output power of these two mechanically stacked cells is achieved. Drift-diffusion model have been used for simulation that solved with numerically method and Gummel algorithm. In this simulation, the final cells exposed to sun light in a standard AM 1.5 G conditions and temperatures are 300° K. The efficiency of the proposed structure is 9.47%. The analytical results are compared with results of numerical simulations and the accuracy of the method used is shown.

A Study of the Formation of Velocity Counter Lines and Secondary (Spiral) Flows in Different Cross Sections of Divergent, Convergent and Uniform Arcs
The mechanical properties of flow are very complex in channel arcs. Therefore, dynamic numerical models of fluids are considered effective tools in predicting such flow fields. In this study, the numerical model was vali...
Empirical Analysis of Single and Multi Document Summarization using Clustering Algorithms
The availability of various digital sources has created a demand for text mining mechanisms. Effective summary generation mechanisms are needed in order to utilize relevant information from often overwhelming digital dat...
Performance Analysis of OFDM and OFDM-MIMO Systems under Fading Channels
Fourth-generation (4G) wireless communication system is mainly based on MIMO (multiple input and multiple output) and OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing). The combination of these two techniques leads to a...
Correlation Between Grain Size Distribution and Silicon and Oxygen Contents at Wadi Arar Sediments, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Quartz is the major mineral of Wadi Arar sediments. The top two elements contents are oxygen with 63.96 wt%, followed by silicon with 16.35 wt%. There is a positive, weak to medium correlation between grain size and sili...
VALUE ANALYSIS: Going into a Further Dimension
Value Analysis (VA), as it was originally conceived, was defined and applied as a cost cutting tool, in order to make products more competitive. That short scope was early identified as limiting further developments and...
