NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF AN UNDERWATER EXPLOSION BY SPH METHOD
Journal Title: ROMANIAN JOURNAL OF TECHNICAL SCIENCES - APPLIED MECHANICS - Year 2016, Vol 61, Issue 1
Abstract
This paper presents theoretical and practical fundamentals regarding numerical analysis of an underwater explosion. Its parameters and effects upon submerged structures represent the aim of the numerical analysis by Smoothed Particles Hydrodynamics (SPH). SPH method is a version of a more general numerical method, named free particle method. The fundamentals of explosion theory and of the SPH method are supposed to be known, so this paper intends to present only the particularities of an underwater explosion and how its parameters and effects can be modeled by SPH method. The example finishing the paper represents an available numerical model for such problems.

EXPERIMENTAL AND THEORETICAL ANALYSIS OF NOVEL TELESCOPIC DEVICES FOR EARTHQUAKE PROTECTION
The telescopic SERB devices are compact mechanical devices designed for bracing isolation systems. These devices can provide important dissipation of the seismic energy and can generate the necessary force to prevent the...
INFLUENCE OF SPEED OF TESTING AND TEMPERATURE ON THE BEHAVIOUR OF POLYURETHANE FOAMS
Polyurethane foams with densities of 35, 93, and 200 kg/m3 were tested in tension and compression at three levels of temperatures as: -60 °C, 23 °C, and 80 °C. The influence of speed of testing from 2 mm/min up to 6 m/s...
BEHAVIOUR OF PLASMONIC NANOPARTICLE-GENERATED CAVITATION BUBBLES
The transient dynamics of cavitation nanobubbles generated through the irradiation of gold nanoparticles, via the particle's plasmonic resonance, very close to the threshold laser fluence for bubble formation, is investi...
NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF THE QUASISTATIC CONTACT PROBLEM WITH DAMAGE
This paper deals with the numerical analysis of a quasistatic contact problem with friction between an elastic body and a rigid obstacle. The contact is frictional and is modeled with a version of normal compliance condi...
