NUREMBERG MILITARY TRIBUNAL AND COLLECTIVE MEMORY: THEORETICAL INSIGHT

Abstract
The article is devoted to the theoretical problem of the influence of international criminal courts on collective memory. An attempt was made to understand the legacy of the Nuremberg Tribunal in terms of its impact on collective memory. The main components of the indicated problem are considered: authoritativeness, personality of judges and prosecutors, symbols in culture, levels of influence of the practice of the courts on the societies etc. The reflections on collective memory are based on Maurice Halbwachs teachings on collective memory and Erving Hoffmann theory of frames.
