Journal Title: Ideação - Year 2010, Vol 12, Issue 2
Abstract
Based on the short story named ”Mãe, o cacete”, authored by Ivana Arruda Leite, we intend to study about a tension peculiar to the experience of women in society and in Brazilian society. The main idea that appears during the reading of the story is the comparison between what would be the ideal mother and what really happens in that relationship, from the point of view of the character. The short story is considered polemic, and exposes us to think, especially about the situation of women who are mothers today. The article is organized by the development of related topics into sections, in order to highlight the relationship literature and society.
