Obez Hastalarda Yeme Tutumu ile Vücut Kitle Endeksi Arasındaki İlişkinin Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract
Introduction: Eating disorders are thinking about the eating, weight, appearance and disorders of eating behavior. Eating behavior can measurable with eating attitudes test and cut-off value is considered to be 30. This study aimed to evaluate the eating behavior of obese patients and their education. Methods: In these study EAT was performed in 53 patients randomly. In our study, Student t test, one way ANOVA and Pearson correlation analysis was used. Data were analyzed with SPSS. P <0.05 was considered significant. Results: The level of education of participants 24.5% (n=13) primary education, 13.2% (n=7) high school, 35.8% (n=19) university. 26.4% (n=14) did not specify their education. The mean age of participants was 35.6±9.9; the mean weight was 92.7±14.3; the mean body mass index was 35.7±5.9; they receive from eating attitudes test mean score was 25±15.5. 39.6 (n=21) patients received scores of 30 and above. Taken from eating attitudes test and body mass index scores were compared with levels of education. When the educational level increases, eating attitudes test scores and body mass index were found to be significantly reduced. In addition, a significant positive correlation was found between body mass index and eating attitudes test scores. Conclusion: In our study, a significant positive correlation was found between body mass index and eating attitudes test scores. Numerous studies support that eating attitudes of obese are worse. In this study, it was shown that education was an important factor in preventing obesity, but it also corrected eating attitude.
