On divergence of the panel, stretched on the direction of supersonic gas flow, an accumulating on its free edge

Abstract

By analyzing, as an example, a thin elastic rectangular plate streamlined by supersonic gas flows, we study the loss stability phenomenon of the overrunning of the gas flow at is free edge under the assumption of presence of stretced forces at the free und hinged edges. Critical velocities of divergence of the panel and localized divergence are found. It is established that the stretced forces leads to the stabilizing of unperturbed equilibrium state of a plate in supersonic gas flow.
