On Regional Logistic Cargo Operations in Turkey's Tough Geographic Areas on the Basis of General Aviation Operations

Journal Title: Lectio Socialis - Year 2018, Vol 2, Issue 2

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to search for possibilities to apply Regional General Aviation logistics operations as applied in many parts of the World to Turkey’s both Mediterranean, Aegean, Black Sea regions and in other compelling geographies like its Eastern region and to study Turkey’s necessity for such a solution. In this study a model scenario has been analyzed through a sample scenario inspired by simulating how air logistics connec-tions between difficult geographies could be achieved with respect to the current procedures of general avia-tion. It has been concluded that Turkey can be combined with the existing general aviation operations highly effi-cient and flexible standards and by the implementation of correct air cargo management principles successful results can be achieved within a 16-hour period depend-ing on the available fleet sizes in these troubled areas. Regional General Aviation Logistics operations can be a solution to the logistical requirements of the Turkey's existing tough geographies at least at a level to fulfill their top urgent needs. The decision-makers can contribute to the logistic planning in accordance with Regional Devel-opment Macro Plans. Finally, findings of this study will provide a basis for future detailed feasibility surveys.
