ON THE POST-EARTHQUAKE DAMAGE DETECTION OF STRUCTURES
Journal Title: ROMANIAN JOURNAL OF TECHNICAL SCIENCES - APPLIED MECHANICS - Year 2016, Vol 61, Issue 3
Abstract
The paper introduces an alternative method for evaluation the postearthquake damage in the multidegree of freedom structures with viscous and hysteretic behavior. Assuming damage as a scalar variable is very simplistic. However, this simplification helps us to understand the damage as the failing which impairs functional and working conditions of engineering structures. The damage is computed from simulated data and the characteristics of the structures. The role of the strength and stiffness degradations in the damage evaluation is investigated, via extended Bouc-Wen model. The transition to damage as a vector variable is in progress.

BUILDING UP HIGH QUALITY ROADMAP USING VERTEX CLASSIFICATION BASED INCREMENTAL PATH PLANNER
Poor quality roadmaps can lead to in-optimal paths and lengthy path planning processes. Incremental path planners allow undesired vertices of the newly developed components to be removed when updating the existing roadma...

INCREMENTAL NUMERICAL METHOD USED FOR THE KINEMATIC ANALYSIS OF THE FOUR-BAR LINKAGE MECHANISM
Kinematics deals with the study of geometrics aspects of the movement without taking into consideration the mass of the rigid solids (their inertia) and neither the causes that provoked the movement namely the forces. Th...
EXPERIMENTAL AND THEORETICAL ANALYSIS OF NOVEL TELESCOPIC DEVICES FOR EARTHQUAKE PROTECTION
The telescopic SERB devices are compact mechanical devices designed for bracing isolation systems. These devices can provide important dissipation of the seismic energy and can generate the necessary force to prevent the...
