Onomastyczne prace Profesor Krystyny Kowalik i ich wymiar interpretacyjno-dokumentacyjny

Abstract
The article describes the works of professor Krystyna Kowalik within the scope of onomastics, which are only a part of the linguist’s extensive scientific output. The researcher focuses mainly on the grammatical aspects of the modern Polish language, lexicography, and terminology, however she has also written more than a dozen texts about proper names, mainly chrematonyms (institutionyms and ideonyms). There she points out, among others, the formal structure of multi-compound names, the relations between their compounds, their number, grammatical functions, and the influence of external factors on the name form. She also discusses subjects on the border of the appellative and proprial spheres of language, taking into account the text usage of onym derivatives.
