Journal Title: «Вчені записки Таврійського національного університету імені В. І. Вернадського. Серія: Філологія. Соціальні комунікації» - Year 2018, Vol 29, Issue 1
Abstract
In this article the peculiarities of Turkish onomatopoetic words are analyzed. Mostly, the attention is focused on the question of the classification, formation and translation of onomatopoietic vocabulary into the Ukrainian language. The translation aspect is analyzed in the context of the correspondence of these lexical units in languages with different characteristics of the word-formation. Besides, the article deals with the word-building, stylistic and lexical potential of the mentioned lexical units. The research is conducted according to traditional and modern phonosemantic approaches. The study of sound imitative words is one of the key tasks of modern phonosemantics and comparative studies and has the general theoretical and practical significance both at the level of general linguistics and in Turkology in particular. Various aspects of the phenomenon of onomatopoeia in Turkish were studied both in Turkey and abroad, but the amount of materials in the Ukrainian language on this subject is rather limited
