Optimal Detection of Damage for Variable Cross Section Beams Based on Vibration Analysis Using RFM
Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2013, Vol 6, Issue 11
Abstract
The existence, location, and extent of the damage are three main questions in the damage detection. This paper describes a procedure for detecting structural damage based on a genetic algorithm for non-uniform Timoshenko beams. Using Residual force method, the problem is formulated as an optimization problem, which is then solved by using genetic algorithm (GA). Reduction parameters of structural stiffness are used to parameterize the finite element model. Results are presented in the form of tables.
