Optimize Energy Consumption with priority forwarder list in Wireless Sensor Networks
Journal Title: International Journal of Research in Computer and Communication Technology - Year 2013, Vol 2, Issue 10
Abstract
Opportunistic routing always useful to increase the network throughput by forwarding the packets to the nodes which are nearer to the destination node. These nodes are called as forwarder listed nodes during the transmission the lower priority forwarder will discard the packet if the packet has been forwarded by a higher priority forwarder. Hence choosing prioritize forwarder list is a challenging job such that a certain network performance is optimized. This paper emphasizes on choosing a prioritizing forwarder list to minimize energy consumption. We proposed an energy-efficient opportunistic routing strategy (EEOR) to overcome this problem. The simulations shows that our technique is better than the existing one.
