Orthodontic Management of A Mandibular Impacted Canine: Case Report

Abstract
This case report describes the diagnosis and treatment of impacted mandibular canine in a 14 year old male patient. Patient was treated by surgical exposure of the impacted tooth followed by orthodontic traction. The total time duration of the treatment was 22 months. Impacted teeth are defined as teeth that remain completely or incompletely embedded in the jawbone or mucosa for more than 2 years following physiological eruption time.1 Canines play an pivotol role in functional occlusion and forms the foundation of an esthetic smile.
