Abstract
In the course of using radar systems to assess the navigational situation, the safe course of a ship is determined on the basis of a successive implementation of several stages, among which one can identify search, detection and recognition of a marine object with the subsequent processing of radar measurements. The most interesting are the stages associated with the stay and identification of the marine object. Therefore, the article deals with the features of identifying and identifying a marine object on the basis of determining the effective scattering area.
