PARTICIPATION IN TED-CONFERENCES AS A FACTOR OF DEVELOPING FUTURE ECONOMISTS’ PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE

Abstract
The role of communication technologies in the development of professional competence of future economists was described. The relevance of implementing innovative technologies into the process of studying, which influence the complex development of specialists’ competency is being emphasized. It has led to the formulation of the subject of the article which is TED conferences and implementing modern technologies into educational process in higher education institutions. Scientific literature that concerns the topic has been analysed and the conclusion that the topic has several areas of further development was drown up. Although it is shown by several authors including foreign ones that such topic has a significant value as a powerful tool in education process, it is not highlighted that such platform has deeper and more intricate features that among others will boost the linguistic competence and broaden the horizons of general understanding. Furthermore, according to foreign authors the field of cyber education was introduced. In addition to the mentioned above, different platforms and cyber tools were introduced and compared summarising the advantages and disadvantages of such approaches to the implementation into the educational system. The purpose of the study is to emphasize the importance of using modern technologies and particularly TED.com in educating specialists of different fields and spheres of interest and more precisely students who have economical background. It is concluded that such education tools will make a significant improvement in many ways starting from general skill improvement to increasing linguistic competence, which is highly regarded among specialists who have international interests or who are connected with world-trade operations. During the research it was discovered that modern technologies particularly information technologies not only influence the transformation of civilazation but also cause the necessity of self-education and constant improvement of qualification. It was estimated that during using the methodology different skills that form a competency are being gained. Those include general skills that refer to professional growth and lexical ones that increase language awareness.
