Journal Title: International scientific journal Science and Innovation - Year 2025, Vol 4, Issue 1
Abstract
Pediatric respiratory tract infections (RTIs) are one of the leading causes of illness and hospitalization among children worldwide. The global burden of these infections is profound, especially in developing countries, where they contribute significantly to pediatric morbidity and mortality. This article provides a comprehensive review of the prevalence, etiology, clinical features, and management strategies for RTIs in children. Special emphasis is placed on the impact of recent global health crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, on the epidemiology of RTIs. Preventive strategies, including vaccination and public health interventions, are also discussed in detail.
