Journal Title: The Journal of International Social Research - Year 2016, Vol 9, Issue 42

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships between perceived overqualification and task and contextual performance. The study also attempts to examine the moderating effect of support at work on these relationships. Data comes from 152 white collar employees in Istanbul. The results demonstrate that perceived overqualification is significantly and negatively related to contextual performance. This relation was moderated by perceived organizational support. However perceived overqualification was not related with task performance.
