Performance Evaluation of Major Mobile Network Operators in Owerri Metropolis of Nigeria
Journal Title: International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Computational and Applied Sciences - Year 2016, Vol 18, Issue 1
Abstract
Mobile Network Operators (MNO) can significantly improve their profitability growth rates and financial stability by constantly monitoring, analyzing and optimizing the radio network performance to provide better subscriber quality. A real time non-intrusive performance evaluation of the network allows the operator to identify performance issues and administer quick corrective actions in order to provide highest performance and asset utilization at the lowest operating cost. In this paper, the service rendered by four major operators (MTN, AIRTEL, GLO and ETISALAT) are considered and evaluated to determine the best operator with minimal call pattern variations. The performance evaluations of the four networks are based on five Key Performance Indicators measured by drive test technique along the main road and highway in Owerri, Imo state, South-East Nigeria. The results show that all the operators failed to comply with the stipulated performance threshold as recommended by the Nigerian Communication Commission for all the Network operators in Nigeria. ETISALAT display a fair performance among the four MNOs considered in this study area.
The effect of tool coating and cutting conditions on tool Temperature
A good prediction of the temperature in the cutting tool for machining facilitate the optimization of cutting condition to achieve long tool life and low production cost . This paper presents a comprehension between a nu...
Accumulation Levels of Heavy metals in Field Area vs. Experimental Study Soils
The Soil sample from field area and Industrial solid waste samples were collected at the outlet of release channel of the “Oil and Gas Industry” at Kakinada, air-dried and was brought to the laboratory. The soil samples...
Use of a hypothetically optimal non-recursive digital smoothing filter for comparative study of signal denoising methods in analytical chemistry
We developed a hypothetically optimal non-recursive digital smoothing filter which minimises the sum of the squared norms of the residuals (between true and smoothed signals) and of the smoothed noise. It has been proven...
Minimax Estimation of the Scale Parameter of the Laplace Distribution under Different Loss Function
In this paper, we obtained Minimax estimators of the scale parameter θ for the Laplace distribution under different loss function by applying the theorem of Lehmann [1950]. Some Bayes estimators for the unknown scale par...
Using of the undetectable perturbations for determining confidence intervals of parameters of overlapping asymmetrical peaks estimated by nonlinear curve fitting
Decomposition of overlapping peaks is one of the most commonly used computer-enhanced procedures of instrumental analytical chemistry which is usually performed by nonlinear fitting a predefined model to the measured dat...
