Abstract
The situation in the Middle East and over sixty-year conflict there show a vivid example of superpowers' interests clash in one of the most strategic regions of the world. It is the biggest source of mistrust between the West and Arab world. Taking into account the will to present the problems in a clear and comprehensible way, the article first features the sources of conflict and then concentrates on possible scenarios offurther actions that a current state of international relations allows. Moreover, attention is drawn to several propositions of possible conflict resolutions presented by representatives of Nordic states 'political environment that for years have been actively participating in the Middle East peace process
