Thus, this research is expected to provide new insights and significantly contribute to design the education planning according to John Dewey’s philosophy. This research uses a descriptive research type method to better understand about John Dewey’s concept in education, especially from the book “How We Think.” This research results show that John Dewey’s education highly prioritizes the intellectual side, unlike what has been accused so far that Dewey’s education tends to be more practical and not intellectual. In addition, Dewey’s education concept can also have an impact on education in Indonesia. Although this study tries to explore the concept of Dewey’s education in the book “How We Think”, it is still at a level that is not yet deep.
