Abstract
Literary life of Hasan Âli started with Dergâh magazine. Publishing his first poems in Dergâh, he adopted the pure poetry approach. With this approach, he wrote new poems. After leaving Dergâh, he continued his literary life with Millî Mecmua (National Magazine), In this period, “Millî Edebiyat Akımı” (Movement of National Literature) affected so many poets and authors including Hasan Âli. Folk and Turkish sufi Literature had an important role in the deve development of his literary side. Therefore, mystical and sufi elements had an impotant place in his poems. Hasan Âli, who dedicated his life to eduction, culture and art, comes to the fore with his political identity rather than his artistic identity. This shadows his artiscis identity and prevents him form being knowni by young generations. Hence, his poems and literary essays are not given much coverage in the anthologies. Hasan Âli is a good poet and man of culture who had a philosophical perspective, knowledge of esthetics. In this study, his poetry side and his outlook on Turkish literature were tried to be assessed.
