POETYKA OBRAZU POLAKA-ARTYSTY W PROZIE HISTORYCZNEJ ROMANA IWANYCZUKA

Abstract
The article is devoted to the poetics of the image of a Pole as an artist in the historical prose of Roman Ivanychuk. The subject of the research are the most popular works: Manuscript from Ruska street, Water from stone, Scars on the Rock and Because the War is War. In the article characteristic features of outstanding figures of Polish origin in Roman Ivanychuk prose are analyzed. Moreover, the importance of such notions as image, image-antithesis, symbol and stereotype has been examined.
