Polsat – od wytwórcy do dystrybutora telewizyjnych treści
Journal Title: Naukowy Przegląd Dziennikarski - Year 2013, Vol 1, Issue 4
Abstract
The subject of the article is an analysis of activity of Polsat television group owned by Zygmunt Solorz. The author presented the history of individual stations being a part of the group and drew attention to selected elements of broadcasted programme. He searched for Polsat’s sources of success in gaining interest of a large and relatively steady audience. Eventually he came to a conclusion that despite Polsat still being involved in television production, the primary course of company’s action is related to content distribution. Own digital platform and digitalisation of terrestrial TV broadcasting allowed Polsat group to launch new thematic channels which rather effectively mitigated the decrease in interest in the main universal channel.
