Polycythemia Vera presenting with stroke and complicated by deep venous thrombosis – short case series

Abstract
Abstract: Polycythemia Vera a myeloproliferative disorder sometimes associated with vascular complications like stroke. The clinical course may be complicated by deep vein thrombosis at multiple sites if the underlying hematological disorder is not corrected. We present 3 cases of cerebrovascular disease complicated by polycythemia and the problems that came up during their management. All three cases could be managed successfully and are on follow up as outpatients. Keywords: Polycythemia, JAK2 mutation, panmyelosis.
