Journal Title: Moment Dergi - Year 2016, Vol 3, Issue 2
Abstract
In 2000s of Turkish Cinema, male characters are in the center and female characters have secondary roles in filmic narratives. It is remarkable that woman discourse finds an expression opportunity in leakage points of filmic narratives which meanings about patriarchal discourse got into circulation. In analysis of whether woman discourse is enabled or not in diegetic world of the films, the narrative is as important as formal features of the film like gaze and voice. Filmic narrative which is shaped by basic questions like how narratives are established; who is the director of the narrative is sometimes supported by a riddle component. In the study, leak lines where woman discourse become visible will be traced in the films named as Neredesin Firuze (Ezel Akay, 2004), Hokkabaz (Ali Taner Baltacı, Cem Yılmaz, 2006) and Av Mevsimi (Yavuz Turgul, 2010) which female characters are handled as riddle components.
