PORT AND INDUSTRIAL UNITS AS CENTRES OF DIFFUSION OF INNOVATION
Journal Title: Biuletyn Instytutu Morskiego - Year 1997, Vol 24, Issue 2
Abstract
The paper discusses problems of functioning and development of port/urban systems as centres of diffusion of innovation. Characteristics of the port and industria/units as innovation diffusion centres are presented. By means of assessing the level of modernity of Polish ports and through concepts of development of modem sea ports, mechanisms of innovation diffusion are presented. On this basis, treating Polish sea ports as centres of transfer and stimulation of innovativeness in their national and international hinterland, recommendations for inclusion in the Polish government's policy are formulated.
