POSSIBILITIES OF CHATGPT AS A THIRD PARTICIPANT IN A CONFLICT SITUATION BETWEEN SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract

The article concentrates on the communicative potential of ChatGPT in a conflict speech situation with school student participants. The results of the pragmatic analysis show that ChatGPT has the ability to determine the timing of the involving into dialogue between the main communicators if it is given permission for that by the participants in the process of communication. However, due to his capabilities, it cannot resolve the dispute between communicants on its own; it only offers widespreaded options for resolving the dispute. The final decision will be stayed by the main communicators. Based on ChatGPT responses in examples related to conflict situations among school students, we have identified an algorithm for generating chat remarks in a dispute. It was conducted a number of queries in order to identify the communicative role of ChatGPT, and made an attempt to study its role status as a third participant ‒ a mediator. The theoretical and practical significance of this research is studying the possibility of using ChatGPT in some conflict situations among school students.
