Possibilities of Using Non-Commercial Software in the Process of Studying the Discipline "Computer Science and Information Technologies".

Abstract
Software is one of the key components responsible for the development of science, education and producing goods. Nowadays the rapid development of computer technology and the market of software (which requires constant updating) and, moreover, a difficult financial situation forces schools to save money on purchasing and upgrading their software. In this situation the ways out can be installing software that is licensed under free licenses. In the article the action plan in Europe and Asia on the implementation and use of non-commercial software and the laws and regulations of Ukraine is analyzed. The article describes the main types of software that can be used in the process of studying the discipline "Computer science and information technologies": proprietary (commercial) free, open and free. A comparative analysis of proprietary and non-commercial software is done, and the advantages and disadvantages of each type are singled out. The expediency of using free, free and open source software in the classroom is grounded. The possibilities of using non-commercial software in the process of studying the discipline "Computer science and information technologies" are determined. Working with files and folders" we propose to use the operating system Linux. A brief description of this software is made and counterparts of the software that is used at present are listed. The conclusion is made that the existing non-commercial software is sufficient for the needs of the discipline "Computer science and information technologies".
