Preferences of gynaecologists in the field of continuous professional training based on the example of the workshop on colposcopy. Part I
Journal Title: Ginekologia Praktyczna - Year 2006, Vol 88, Issue 1
Abstract
The aim of the survey was to define the accessibility of the colposcop and how it is used taking into account the following factors: a type of the health service institution, the attendance of the gynaecologists at the workshops on colposcopy and the awareness of the existence of Colposcop Scientific Society. The Polish gynaecologists (n=202) from both towns and cities, who have got an average work experience of 18.3 years, have answered 34 questions. The analysis of these answers has indicated that only 35% of the institutions where the survey has been carried out have an accessibility to colposcop and examinations are given there. The same situation is in the case of only 24% of gynaecological departments at the hospitals with the first level of reference. 22% of health service institutions have not been using colposcop although it has already been purchased. One of the reasons of not using the colposcop is the fact that 57 % of those who have taken part in the survey have never attended the workshops on colposcopy before and 36% of them have not been aware of the fact that there is Colposcop Scientific Society.
