Prehilar renal artery division with supernumerary renal veins: a case series
Journal Title: International Journal of Anatomical Variations - Year 2017, Vol 10, Issue 3
Abstract
OBJECTIVES: To know the variations of renal vessels in human cadavers. METHODS: The study was performed on 3 cadaveric cases. The posterior abdominal wall was dissected to study the paired kidneys. RESULTS: The following observations were made: bilateral prehilar division of renal artery in all 3 cadavers, triple renal vein on right side in one kidney. CONCLUSION: Anatomical knowledge of the vascular variations is essential for the clinician to perform procedures such as renal transplantation, renal vascular operations more safely and efficiently.

Preperitoneal pelvic kidney: Revisiting the significance of variant anatomy to the clinician of the future
The kidneys are retroperitoneal organs applied to the posterior abdominal wall. Renal ectopia and structural alterations are of clinical significance. Most renal ectopia occurs in the pelvis and has a strong association...

Medical illustration in anatomical variations
The history of anatomic variations is as old as the history of anatomy. Vesalius, considered the initiator of the modern age of the anatomy, has done many dissections on human body. Since anatomical variations are not co...
Variations in branching pattern of musculocutaneous nerve with respect to communicating branch between musculocutaneous and median nerve
Aim: To study and classify the variations in branching of musculocutaneous nerve when the communicating branch is present between median nerve and musculocutaneous nerve. Methods: The study was conducted on 60 upper lim...
