Pressure agglomeration of hard and brown coals

Journal Title: CHEMIK nauka-technika-rynek - Year 2012, Vol 66, Issue 5

Abstract

The results of granulation of low quality hard coals and brown coal, with grain size under 2 [mm] were presented in the article. The influence of coal size analysis on the content of ash, sulfur and nitrogen were tested, as well as heat of combustion. The agglomeration tests were performed in closed die and the results were the basis for calculation of specific work in granulation process. The pelletizing experiments were made in granulator with flat die, with tha addition of sodium lignosulfonate as binder. The compressive strength of pellets was defined.
