Prevalence of dyslipidemias correlated with risk factors with golden-age club retirees

Abstract
Dyslipidemia is an asymptomatic disease that reflects a high concentration of lipoproteins in the blood. To be detected a blood lipid count must be performed where abnormal triglyceride or cholesterol scores are found. This disease has different risk factors such as high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases, among others. Objective: To analyze the prevalence of dyslipidemias and their relationship with risk factors in the Golden Age Club ́s retirees of the Hospital IESS Milagro (Ecuador). Materials and methods: The research had a descriptive and correlational scope, with a non-experimental and transversal design. A deductive method was applied. The population was one hundred seven (107) the Golden Age Club retired; a census was used for the entire population. The data collection technique was the survey. Results: The older adults’ majority are obese and overweight to varying degrees; they were diagnosed with diabetes mellitus by a doctor, as well as their total cholesterol levels, high HDL cholesterol and high blood pressure level. In his eating habits, the doctor found consumption of fats, carbohydrates in his lifestyle, alcohol and tobacco consumption. In addition, there were retirees who maintain a sedentary lifestyle, which could generate greater risks of suffering from diseases related to dyslipidemia. Conclusions: There is a statistically positive relationship between the prevalence of dyslipidemia with risk factors except sociodemographic
