PREVENCIÓN DE VIOLENCIA DE GÉNERO E INTRAFAMILIAR: INTERVENCION INSTITUCIONAL

Abstract
This study exposes the results of the sensitization to first, second and third high school students of six public and private educational institutions of the urban and rural sector of Ambato canton, in topics of prevention of gender and intrafamily violence. The study lasted six months. Surveys were applied to the population to determine the types of gender and intrafamily violence, which were collected, tabulated and served as the basis for raising awareness among the student population, the work was supported by an inter-institutional agreement between the Autonomous Decentralized Government Municipality of Ambato and the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Sede Ambato in 2016. Based on the results of the surveys, a sensitization process is applied to parents, mothers or representatives of the students, through a training workshop on the theme: "school for fathers and mothers". The results are revealed in the commitments assumed by the students and their legal representatives, who express their rejection of violent practices related to gender and family. It is concluded that the representatives of the students, show ignorance about the problems that their children are going through or represented, respectively, having as a cause the poor communication in the homes.
