PRINCIPLE OF TEXT ORGANISATION OF THE GERMAN ZOO GUIDES

Abstract
The article examines changes in the formal macrostructure (text architectonics) of a text genre «zoo guide» (object of analysis are German zoo guides of the Berlin, Leipzig, Hannover zoos during the period from 1851 to 2016). Various definitions of the term «text macrostructure» are given. Text is considered as entirety composed of part texts (thematic and functional units) which are separated by the content and typographic features. The linguistic and visual means which indicate a text entirety, its demarcation among other texts and internal structure are defined. The part texts are analyzed regarding signals of text demarcation and internal structures, thematic and functional aspects. The main part text (description of a route to be taken around the zoo with information about the buildings and the animals contained within them, engravings and later photos of the animals) is framed with other part texts: historical, reglementary part text, introduction, content/animal list, advertisement message. They all serve the function of the frame. Depending on newness and intensity of use linguistic and visual means can be divided in four groups: means without changes (bold-black mark), altered means (chronological table instead of linear text), completely new means (an asterisk for threatened animal species), means tending to vanish (verbalization of the route).
