Principles of occupational risk management related to exposure to nano-objects, their agglomerates and aggregates (NOAA)
Journal Title: Podstawy i Metody Oceny Środowiska Pracy - Year 2015, Vol 31, Issue 2
Abstract
The article presents principles of occupational risk management and practical advice on their implementationThe article presents principles of occupational risk management and practical advice on their implementation in accordance with the recommendations proposed in the technical specifications ISO/TS 12901-1:2012 Nanotechnologies Occupational risk management applied to engineered nanomaterials Part 1. Principles and approaches and ISO/TS 12901-2:2014 Nanotechnologies Occupational risk management applied to engineered nanomaterials Part 2. Use of the control banding approach. Because there are no commonly accepted methods to assess the occupational risks associated with exposure to NOAA, based on the measurement data determined in the real conditions of exposure, and reference values (limits) for each NOAA in the working environment method based on determining hazard category (HB) and estimating the level of exposure (EB) presented in ISO/TS 12901-2 can be used in the process of occupational risk management related to exposure to NOAA.

Conditions of using numerical workers’ models while assessing direct hazards related to exposure to electromagnetic field
This article discusses the possibility of using numerical workers’ body models when as-sessing exposure to electromagnetic fields in testing compliance with the requirements of Directive 2013/35/EU. The requirements rel...
Crystalline silica: quartz and cristobalite – espirable fraction Documentation of proposed values of an occupational exposure limit (OEL)
Crystalline silica is the name of a group of min-erals composed of silicon dioxide. Quartz and cristobalite are the most common forms of crys-talline silica. Siliceous raw materials are widely applied in the production o...
Practical implementation of international rules of assessment of occupational hazards linked with electrodynamic interaction between worker’s body and magnetic field of low frequency
The influence of a low frequency magnetic field causes biophysical effects in the human body, which may trigger the response of nervous cells, in both the central and peripheral nervous systems, such as magneto-phospfene...
