Problematic aspects of innovation activity of wholesalers in Ukraine

Abstract
Introduction. Wholesale companies are an important part of the system of commodity circulation and supply chains. Their development, improvement of theoretical and methodological principles of management and business practices has a significant impact on the boundaries and capabilities of the system as a whole. At the current stage of economic development, the main factor in improving the enterprise management system is fairly considered to be innovative activity, which consists in the creation and implementation of innovative products and services, as well as marketing and managerial innovations. Taking into account the current state of affairs in wholesale trade, it is expedient to summarize the problem aspects of innovation activity in this area, as well as to work out recommendations for their overcoming. Purpose. The purpose of the work is to substantiate the recommendations on overcoming obstacles to the innovation activity of wholesale trade enterprises in Ukraine. Results. In the article the features and obstacles of innovative activity of wholesale trade enterprises are investigated. The content and main tendencies of innovative activity of enterprises in Ukraine are researched. The peculiarities of innovation activity of wholesale trade enterprises are established. The comparison of the share of innovation-active wholesale trade enterprises and related fields is carried out. The structure of expenses of the enterprises-innovators has been characterized. The directions, strategies and factors of efficiency of innovation activity of wholesale trade enterprises are generalized. The issue of realization of innovative and personnel potential of enterprises of wholesale trade is emphasized. Recommendations for overcoming the obstacles of innovative activity of wholesale trade enterprises in Ukraine are developed. Conclusion. According to the results of the study, it was found that domestic wholesalers are in search of new forms and methods of innovation. The effectiveness of this activity is influenced by the general state of innovation of the economy, the introduction of elements of the knowledge economy at the national level, and the availability of sufficient funding for innovation activities. At the same time, there are a number of obstacles in this area due to the imperfection of the legislative regulation, the lack of development of cluster links with innovation centers (research institutions, educational institutions), as well as unfavorable investment climate in Ukraine. Taking into account the conducted research, recommendations for overcoming the obstacles of innovation activity of wholesale trade enterprises in Ukraine are offered.
