Abstract

Ali Fahir Özer was born in 1953 in Gumushane. He gratuated from Erzurum Ataturk University in 1976. He completed his residency at Hacettepe University. In 1989 he became an associate professor and in 1994 he became a full professor. He was the one who performed several spine surgeries for the first time in Turkey. He founded The Peripheric and Spinal Surgery Group in 1995. He served as the president of the spinal group between 1999-2001. He described numerous surgical techniques in his own name and developed instrumentation systems. He published numerous national and international articles. He used the dynamic system for the first time in Turkey and he is a leader in using dynamic systems. He is one of the leaders in the Turkish Spine Surgery.
