Journal Title: Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal - Year 2024, Vol 16, Issue 3
Abstract
The study determined the effect of guided imagery to the professional quality of life of selected VAW-C Representatives of San Pablo City. An experimental design was used with 30 participants selected through simple random sampling technique. The Professional Quality of Life Scale Version 5 (Stamm, 2009) was used to measure the participants’ compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue as to burnout and secondary traumatic stress. To analyze if there will be significant difference between the pre- and post-evaluation of the professional quality of life (compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue), t-test was used. The study findings showed that before and after the intervention of guided imagery, the compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue as to burnout and secondary traumatic stress of the participants were at the average level, though an increase in compassion satisfaction and decrease in burnout and secondary traumatic stress were seen after the intervention. Furthermore, a significant difference was seen between the pre- and post-evaluation level of the compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue as to burnout. However, no significant difference was seen between the pre- and post-evaluation level of the compassion fatigue as to secondary traumatic stress.
